Alex and I have made a deal. Since I get frustrated with him playing video games and he doesn't want to watch my television shows with me we have come to this deal. For one week Alex will not play ANY video games at all, and I will not watch ANY television. I feel like we have already become more productive. This morning instead of playing Call of Duty before going to work Alex was reading a book. And well I.. slept in a little bit but I still got to work on time so that's good and I made time to make the bed this morning before leaving for work. The show I have been watching a ton of lately is Criminal Minds. They show a bunch of them everyday and they are not necessarily in order so I see sporadic episodes but I think I have a pretty good grasp of what is going on for the most part. Alex likes the show, but not as much as I do so when I wanna watch like 5 episodes in a row he doesn't want to. He is pretty much done after one. So quitting these for a week will give us a little more spare time to hopefully do some productive things and spend more time together. I think it will be nice though I am sure I will be itching to watch some TV especially when I have to wait almost a whole week to watch the next episode of LOST.

Morning person
Alex is more of a morning person than I am. He actually sets his alarm for the time that I have to get up so he can make me get out of bed- which only works sometimes. I am the kind of person who presses the snooze button for 15 minutes and then finally gets up. I don't know why I do this. I don't know why it takes me forever to fall asleep at night and only seconds to go back to sleep in the morning after pressing snooze. I think I am just a tired person. Maybe I need more vitamins or something. Most likely I need sleep. I love to sleep but it is hard to make time for everything that needs to be done in an average day there is work, class, work (I have 2 jobs), church, sports, TV shows, movies, music, friends, family, pets, etc. I wish there was a way I could just wake up in the morning and be ready to go instantly. I don't even usually take very much time to get ready but in the morning I will get out of bed at the last possible minute and start getting ready. I usually just grab breakfast and eat it later to save time in the morning. I am starting to put a little more effort into my makeup and hair in the mornings but I still don't spend much time on that. I really wish I could be a morning person. It would be so nice. I am the kind of person who can stay up late working on something, but even when I go to bed early I still don't want to get out of bed in the morning.
Chloé even does better in the morning than I do. Alex gets her up when he gets up so she can go outside but if she can get away with it she will stay in bed long after we have gotten up. Once she is up she is super hyper and bouncing all over the place and that really helps me get energized in the mornings though it distracts me from getting ready. Prince and Chloé are so funny and laughing at them and playing with them helps wake me up. I need to be one of those super early morning people who can wake up before the sun rises and get a bunch of stuff done before I have to go to work. Early mornings are so beautiful it is the perfect time for photography from 1/2 hour before sunrise to 1/2 hour after. So I am gonna really have to work on waking up better.

San Francisco weekend
We had a very nice Valentines day weekend in San Fran. We spent Saturday and Sunday in the city and drove home at the end of the day. Saturday was 2 years after Alex proposed to me in Rexburg by the temple, and of course Sunday was Valentines day.Saturday morning before we left I made some Chocolate covered strawberries that were delicious! We packed some of them and brought them with us to snack on during the trip.

We left a little later than we had planned so we sat in traffic for about 45 minutes getting into the city, but got there just in time to check into the hotel and get the car parked in the hotel garage. We got all checked in and thankfully we had the parking package because the valet didn't have space for any other cars than those who had already purchased the parking package so we lucked out there. We got settled in and decided to go to Haight Ashbury and Golden Gate park so we went down there and found a few fun things worth buying. I got a coat and Alex found a belt that he liked for 2 dollars each! We went into the Amoeba music store and looked around at all the records and cool stuff they have in there.

We went to Golden Gate park and looked around at everything, It is a huge park and it's very pretty. It started getting dark pretty quick and creepy people were around so we decided it was time to head back toward Union Square for the rest of the night so we could put some stuff in the hotel room and go out to eat.
We hunted around for a nice restaurant and looked at menus and I know we have a Cheesecake factory at home but the one in San Francisco has a really nice view and I wanted to have desert there anyways so we went there and dealt with the 2 hour wait to be seated. It was so busy and crowded but I don't even want to know what the wait was like for Valentines day dinner! can you imagine? It was delicious though and we ended up spending a lot less than we would have at the other places we looked at. We got the Red Velvet Cheesecake for desert and loved it! We were seated outside and It was a little chilly but the view was beautiful. I didn't get a very good picture of the view though it was dark

After dinner we went up to the top of the Westin St. Francis Hotel in the glass elevator and my stomach felt all floaty cause it was so high up there and the elevator was moving pretty fast up and down. It was really cool the view was awesome from way up there.
The next day we had a nice breakfast and checked out of the hotel. We drove over to the Exploratorium. I offered to drive but Alex drove and he was super nervous, it was not that bad except for a few cars that were parked really bad and sticking out into the street a lot. The Exploratorium was packed and there was a pretty long line to get in, but the lined moved pretty fast so it was not that bad. We went in and spent a few hours doing the activities and looking at stuff in the museum it was all really fun and interesting. The only irritating thing was all the noisy kids running around everywhere. I like kids and all, but this was a little much. I expected there to be mostly kids at the exploratorium though. We were in there for a few hours and went outside and walked around. It was so gorgeous outside, sunny and warm It really felt like spring is here.

We sat in the car for a while trying to decide what to do and people kept stopping behind us waiting for our parking spot and we weren't ready to leave yet, it's not like the car was running to make them think we were leaving either. I guess parking there got full that afternoon it wasn't so bad earlier that morning when we got there. So we decided to just drive over by the bridge on our way home and see if there was somewhere I could take some pictures. We drove around looking for the bridge and realized that we were driving the opposite direction of the bridge when we looked behind us. So we turned around and found this awesome beach that was a lot of fun to walk around along the water and watch all the dogs play and run at the beach. The Golden Gate bridge was on our left and Alcatraz was on our right

A day at the office
My job is very interesting sometimes. Like today especially. Things happen here that are weird to explain and all together don't make sense. I love the people I work with we all get along great. Some days the atmosphere here is just unusual. When I returned to my desk from my lunch break I found on my desk an alarmingly strange heap of tied together newspaper articles with scribbles and random tape rubber banded and such that says "do you know him?" all over it, I was kinda creeped out and also trying not to laugh about it at the same time cause it was so weird. So I had to go and ask about it and everyone was like "What the?!, that's freaky" So I got to the bottom if and ended up just throwing it away because really? who would want to read that? There are some things that happened and were said today that I dare not repeat after my boss walked into the call center and apparently snapped at two of our new employees. One of them was furious about it (and still is) the other just kinda looked down and apologized I guess. This also took place while I was on my lunch break so when I got back everyone was acting weird and that funky work atmosphere was everywhere it felt like walking into a room of frustration, fear and anger. I found the newspaper pile at my desk and then found out about everything else. The newspaper had written on it that it was to my boss from her mom so I had to ask and she told me to just throw it away, not to worry about it. so I did.
There is a restroom in a hallway of our office building that has been out of order for months...... the thought of it just grosses me out. I am not even sure who put the out of order sign up on the door or how long the bathroom was "messed up" before then but that sign has been on the door for literally months and that door has remained closed. I think there were a few attempts in the first few weeks to fix the problem but nothing worked I guess and it is still closed and "out of order" today I guess no one is willing to go in there now and even address the problem. they would rather just use a different restroom as there are still three others available to use.
When I first started working here there was a much worse problem with bugs-more specifically spiders in our office. One morning I got to work I received a mass email to the office about a rattlesnake that was found in our office the night before. And also that our tenants had been complaining about a mouse problem which is probably what attracted the rattlesnake to come in here. We basically don't have pest control, and if it is extremely necessary (like with the mice) someone from the office has to deal with it like setting mouse traps rather than hiring pest control to take care of it. So it would make sense that there is a bug problem because the place is never sprayed for insects and not very often cleaned apart from the garbage being taken out. This you would think might cause me to be more brave when it comes to spiders and such... WRONG!! I am still totally squeamish when it comes to spiders.. I have killed more spiders than my whole lifetime combined since I have worked here but I still freak out and nearly have a heart attack when I see them and my heart feels like it is going to pound out of my chest for like the next 15 minutes after the spider is dead. Within a few weeks of working here I saw the biggest (non tarantula) spider that I have ever seen in my life! It was terrible! and it was found in the bathroom!! like they say in the movie Zombieland you are your most vulnerable when you are in the bathroom.... "beware of bathrooms" so after that huge spider was found in there we all were super paranoid using the bathrooms for creepy crawlers hanging out in there. There is a lot that goes on here but we enjoy ourselves and do the best we can...

Excitement!! yes!!
I am soo super duper excited for my upcoming valentines day weekend! It is going to rock my socks off!! I have so much stuff I have to do before then.
I hate doing things last minute but I am going to be working on my assignment that is due at the end of class during my class and I hope I have enough time to finish and that something doesn't get messed up this time. I also have work every day and classes, assignments, appointments, basketball games etc this week before my weekend can officially start.
I have been working on the plans for this weekend and it is going to be so great. We are going to San Francisco for the weekend. I have our hotel booked and restaurants reserved and plans for activities and shopping in between. It is going to be a lot of fun. I am very excited for it. Alex has to work Monday so We can only stay in SF Saturday and Sunday we are coming home. which will give me plenty of time to rest and relax before going back to work Tuesday. I am still working on gift ideas as it will need to be inexpensive, probably something I can make. I am still coming up with ideas for fun things to do for our weekend and gift ideas as well. I think we are gonna do this fun (dorky even) Exploratorium "Ultimate Date Tour" that I am excited about. I am working on some surprise plans for Alex that I think will count as his valentines day gift('s)
I have picked out and have a strategy for my shopping plans already I wrote down all the addresses and where we are going Saturday morning. Let's hope I find some good stuff. This is going to be a fun-filled weekend!! San Francisco! here we come!

A very good/emotional read

I welled up when I was told about this story and then again when I read the article.

500 Days of my weekend
So we had a pretty busy/productive weekend. For some reason I didn't take pictures a lot though. I guess I was busy/distracted. Friday night was the Basketball game it was a lot of fun to watch. Alex and I went out to Honey Treat and had some frozen yogurt after the game.
On Saturday morning we met up with Alex's parents for breakfast we went to Mimi's Cafe and it was very yummy!I had the mixed berry pain perdu breakfast. Alex got the blueberry stuffed french toast "inside and out" breakfast. I had never eaten there before. I am glad they chose to eat there, it is a cute restaurant. And it was nice to see them and sit down and talk for a while. Alex's mom told us this really interesting story I think she found in an article. I will have to find out where it is online so I can read it/post about it.
Alex and I took prince and Chloe for a walk and because it was such a nice day outside I washed the car (I am not very good with a shammy though). The car looks much better now, but I should not be a professional car washer because there are like fuzzies from the shammy everywhere.
We went to the Sacramento Temple from about 3pm-5pm. It was very nice and so beautiful!
That night we went to the basketball team's crab feed. It was a crab feed/live auction/silent auction. We bid on a 3 month membership to Gold's Gym for Alex and we got that and we also went in with my parents for a 3 month membership at the tennis club/country club that is close by. We are excited to use those when the weather warms up and we can go play tennis a lot.
I also finally watched 500 Days of Summer this weekend and I really liked it. Very cute and funny. I think you have to have a specific sense of humor for some of it so please don't blame me if you watch it and don't like it. I really liked it. I am glad we finally got it in the mail from Netflix. It is very exciting every time Netflix comes in the mail especially if it is a movie you really want to watch.
